her award winning portraits, Beth Batchelor has received recognition as
one of the Bay Area's most successful fine art painters, lecturers and
teachers.

Art Painting
Beth studied classical painting at the Leighton Art Academy, continuing
the studio's high art standards with eminent instructor Alan McCorkle.
She
has received acclaim for her vibrant and sensitive oil paintings
and portraits, many of which
grace private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Beth is often
commissioned by business clients to do portraits of their customers. Among
her clients are TWA, Datsun Motors, National Used Car Association and
American Flange Company.
Murals
A noted muralist as well, Beth shares
her knowledge and talent with others, helping children and the elderly
tap their creative talents by painting group mural projects.
She guided gifted children at the Neil Armstrong Elementary School in
San Ramon, CA, in designing a 40-foot mural dedicated to the NASA Challenger
crew. This artistic memorial depicts the birth and ensuing event of the
earth's history up to the space age, including the moon landing and Neil
Armstrong's portraits painted by Beth.
Teaching
Beth
teaches fine art, gives seminars, and donates art work to charitable and
educational causes. A "teacher of teachers," she has juried
many art shows. Beth
and her retired sea captain husband, Steve, reside in Alamo, CA, where
her home gallery Lanaii Studio is open for workshops.
Commercial
Art
Beth
began her career at age 14 winning an award in a textile design contest.
She trained and worked as a commercial artist in New York for 13 years
where she designed advertisements for many nationally-known products,
provided graphic artwork for magazine covers, and illustrated children's
books.

Artists' Society and president of Contra Costa Academy of Fine Arts.
